“I’m 16 and I’ve seen 6 people get stabbed and killed” - Cairo
SYNOPSIS
Gangland is a two-part documentary series that gains unprecedented access to some of London’s most notorious young gangs, as they document what life is really like as part of a contemporary street gang.
Gangland takes a candid look at one of the most troubling and complex aspects of our society today. Through the stories of Jordy, a young former gang member who reveals how he became ensnared in the lifestyle at age 13 and how this impacted on his life; and Sharon, a mother whose son Shaquan, although not in a gang, was caught up in local gang feuding and stabbed to death weeks before his 18th birthday. Gangland: Turf Wars and Gangland: Murder offer a tragic but compelling insight into this world.
